A satisfaction analysis regresses a passenger's 1-10 satisfaction score on the delay they typed into a post-flight survey ("how many minutes late was your flight?"). With 20,000 responses the slope is -0.032 points per minute, standard error 0.0005. A 500-passenger validation sample, matched to the operations log, shows that the typed delay differs from the logged delay with a standard deviation of 15 minutes, and that the typed values have a standard deviation of 25 minutes overall (hypothetical figures). The VP wants to say "each 10 minutes of delay costs 0.32 points". Is that the effect of delay? What do you report?
