Before anyone builds it, the head of marketing asks you: "Is a churn model worth it for us?" The company has 1 million subscribers and about 2% monthly churn. Show how you would estimate the value on the back of an envelope (state your assumptions).

Tests: Value estimation before modelling: translating model performance and intervention effectiveness into money, identifying the assumptions that dominate, and deciding what to validate first.
