Data leakage

Information in training or evaluation that would not be available at prediction time, making offline results look better than live ones.

In detail

Common forms: post-outcome columns, feature windows that extend past the cutoff, baselines or preprocessing fit on evaluation data, and the same entity on both sides of a split. Day 15 gives the full taxonomy.
